Activities
Descriptions of the regular activities for adults are provided below. In
addition, our Kids Club provides a number
of opportunities for toddlers and pre-school children to socialize
with other families.
Bon Appetit
This group meets on monthly at a member's home to prepare and enjoy
gourmet meals. Themes and menus are selected by the hosts and
distributed to the other participants who each bring a dish and
beverage.
Book Club
The book club meets once every two months for light discussion of
current books. Recent picks include The Hidden Diary of Marie
Antoinette by Carrolly Erickson.
Bunko
Bunko is a simple dice game that allows players to mingle with a
large group while playing for fun prizes. Our group plays once a
month on a weeknight with the occasional weekend couples bunko.
Bunko is a great event for visitors or new members to attend and
meet people.
Coffee Clutch
Although members may meet informally for coffee at other times, we
have an established coffee on the second Tuesday of the month at
9:30. We have rotated locations in the past, but currently meet at
Perk and Pub in Elm Grove which has a play area for young children.
Craft Night
We take the definition of crafting rather loosely. While some
traditional crafts such as painting martini glasses or knitting have
been featured, the group has also tried going out to paint pottery
and recently a group evening at Dinner By Design.
Daytroopers
For those looking to get out and enjoy the area without kids,
Daytroopers provides monthly outings including shopping in local
areas such as Cedarburg, visits to local museums, or just lunch out.
Ladies Night Out
Once a month, we get out for an evening of indulgence whether it is
a private party at a local spa or an evening of wine tasting at
a local wine bar. We recently had an outing to the new Trader Joe's
in Milwaukee (it is quite a trek from the Brookfield-Waukesha area).
Sorry guys, you are on babysitting duty for these events!
Powerstrolling
Getting the motivation to get out and exercise can be a
challenge - especially with young children. There are many wonderful
parks in the area with excellent walking trails, many of which
accomodate strollers. Join us with or without little ones in tow for
a walk twice monthly.
Tennis
When summer finally comes in Wisconsin, we like to make
the most of it. Weekly tennis games in Brookfield will give you a
chance to enjoy the fabulous Wisconsin summer. Games are non-competitive, but every effort is made
to match players of similar ability.
